School Bus Driver Hit In Chest By Debris, Keeps Students Safe In Life-Threatening Incident

 

 

 

 

Ordinary mornings can sometimes turn into extraordinary tests of courage. Such was the case in Bellevue, Washington, when school bus driver Stewart O’Leary calmly guided his bus to safety after a piece of debris struck the vehicle’s windshield. On board were the North Creek High School girls basketball team and their coaches, who credit O’Leary’s composure with preventing a frightening situation from becoming a tragedy.The story quickly spread through the community, not only for the near miss but for the powerful example it set of professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to student safety.
